Candace DeSantis is a senior-level writer, editor and media relations professional with an established reputation for spotting stories and telling them in a compelling way. As a former business reporter for the Akron Beacon Journal, she knows exactly how to pitch stories to the media for maximum exposure and coverage.
In addition to serving as a media relations consultant for The Fairmount Group, Candace is an independent writer and editor, contributing to Continental Magazine, WCPN-NPR in Cleveland, The Plain Dealer, The Boston Globe, The Houston Chronicle and The Chicago Tribune. “Polite Company,” her popular Beacon Journal column on workplace culture and etiquette, was syndicated by the Knight Ridder news service and appeared regularly in daily newspapers nationwide from 2003 to 2005.
Candace is a former associate editor of Cleveland Magazine, where she won the Cleveland Press Club’s “Ohio Excellence in Journalism” Award for managing and editing the magazine’s 25th anniversary issue. She is a Knight Fellow in Workplace Journalism, an honor bestowed by the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Candace donates her time and talents to the Geauga County Historical Society & Century Village Museum, serving as chair of the Marketing & Public Relations Committee. She is also an active American Cancer Society volunteer and advocate for alternative energy and nature conservation.
